THE Wokingham community has once again come together to help build brand new facilities at The Salvation Army.

The charity’s premises in Sturges Road was in desperate need of updating and refurbishment, so a team brought together by Wokingham Lions Fund Raising Chairman Sue Jackson, of local tradesmen and volunteers  stepped in to help build a shower and wet room, which was officially opened on Thursday, March 26.

This was the start of the new charity WOKINGHAM IN NEED–as our eyes were opened to the plight of the homeless and the needy.

New Kitchen, Cooker, Breakfast Bar – September 2015

WOKINGHAM IN NEED stepped up to the mark in providing new cooking facilities at the local Salvation Army to support people in need and those experiencing homelessness.

WIN raised funds and employed the help of local businesses including BSW Building Services Limited who provided manpower and equipment for the refurbished kitchen at much discounted cost.

The brand new facility now includes a range cooker, units, breakfast bar and cooking equipment.
